Summer fruits for a healthy diet

Seven summertime healthy fruits Kiwifruit

is our topic for today. With summertime just around the corner, your palate might be watering for your favorite fruits just like mine!

Although in general, all fruits are healthy, we have to be mindful of the ones that might not be best for our health goals. The fruits you’ll read about today are all good for your health and fitness goals!

In this blog, I will cover the seven summertime healthy fruits that you should be eating! In addition to eating them in their raw form, I also suggest you add these to salads, soups and as sides with some protein and veggies!

Watermelon

Who does not like biting into this fruit on a hot July day! I know I do!

Watermelon is filled with antioxidants and lycopene to name a few of the healthy benefits it offers. I suggest putting it into a juicer and making some really tasty watermelon juice. Trust me, it’s to die for!

Avocados

Avocados are truly the king of the green fruits if you ask me. They are arguably one of the healthiest fats (monosaturated) that you can eat!

If you have not tried avocados with a side of eggs and tomatoes, then you really don’t know what you’re missing. This meal is a staple in my mine home during the summer!

Tomatoes

Since we mentioned this fruit with avocados, it makes sense to give them their due justice!

Tomatoes are filled with antioxidants and are very heart healthy! Secondarily, there is research out that shows they provide bone health and anti-cancer benefits!

Cherries

Cherries are the fourth of our seven summertime healthy fruits. They are known for their tart taste when eaten raw, but there are also sweet cherries too.

Cherries provide a great source of Vitamin C and fiber and they go great in smoothies.

Cantaloupe

Perhaps no other fruit besides watermelon is as water packed as the cantaloupe. As a result, they make for the perfect body hydrator during the summertime.

Cantaloupes are packed with beta-carotene that can be converted to Vitamin A. Vitamin A helps grow new skin cells! So, if want healthy new skin, think about eating some cantaloupe!

Blueberries

Blueberries are packed with antioxidants and fiber and go really great in smoothies too!

Also, there is research out that shows certain properties in blueberries help limit fat storage and increase your body’s ability to burn fat!

Kiwifruit

Kiwifruit are the final of our seven summertime healthy fruits. Kiwifruit is the other powerful green fruit! This fruit actually has more Vitamin C than oranges! Pretty cool right?

Packed with fiber and potassium, they are a great fruit to eat to help keep you regular and your electrolytes in place!
